Banja Luka, the capital of the Serbian Republic of Bosnia, will host the famous rock band “Bijelo dugme” to celebrate the Orthodox New Year on the evening of 13 January.
Banja Luka is a city known for its large female population. Indeed, the city counts 70% of women and the reputation on their beauty is not to be redone so much that the city is nicknamed “city of the women“. The city is also known for frequently organizing concerts in its central square “Trg Krajine“. This year, to celebrate the Orthodox New Year on the night of January 13, will perform in public the famous rock band Bijelo dugme. This group had an unprecedented reputation in the era of Yugoslavia and continues to satisfy the fans.
The concert is offered by President Milorad Dodik and the telephone company m : tel, as well as the banking group “Nova Banka”.
The band’s producer, Adis Gojak, said the band had not been in Banja Luka for 28 years. It is for this reason that the marketing director of m: tel, Djordje Mišić, stated that “Bijelo dugme is not a group we are used to see and it is an honor to know that they have chosen to hold a concert again in the city of Banja Luka “.
Goran Bregović is the only musician to remain a member of the band. He will be accompanied by the singers Alen Islamović and Mladen Vojičić Tifa who were already the singers of the group they were at the top. Željko Bebek refused to appear in Banja Luka.
The three sold-out concerts in the “Beogradska Arena” during the month of November testify to the group’s notoriety.
