In Istria, the construction of a small “Las Vegas” is planned. A group of American investors from Nevada will invest $ 1.5 billion for this project. Businessmen are currently negotiating with the Croatian representatives.
The “Croatian Las Vegas” should cover about 100 hectares and create more than 5,000 jobs. Constructions should be completed before the entry of Croatia into the European Union.
Several locations were considered to host the project and investors hesitate between Dubrovnik, Zadar and other localities of Istria.
Croatia was chosen for its proximity to Europe, its developed tourism and its beautiful coastline. The project of new “Las Vegas” was also coveted by the cities of Thessaloniki (Greece), Ohrid (Macedonia), Budva (Montenegro) and by Albania.
