Skopje is a city with a rich history and is situated on the crossroads between the East, West and South. It is the largest city in Macedonia.

You will need enough time to visit Skopje and enjoy all the activities that the city has to offer. Here are some advices and suggestions to make a walking tour of the places you should not miss:

  • The old railway station which is the first station built in the Balkans.
  • The Stone Bridge, built in the sixth century, located in the center of the city.
  • Mother Teresa’s monument which is a memorial house in honor of Mother Teresa.
  • Daut Pasha’s Hammam which is a Turkish bath dating from the fifteenth century.
  • Kale Fortress which is the most visited tourist place in Skopje.
  • The St. Spas church (built in the late seventeenth century) where the relics of Gotse Delchev, the great Macedonian revolutionary, are retained.
  • Starata Carsija (old bazaar) to finish the tour.

This walking tour of Skopje last at least half a day but it depends on detours and stops you will make.
