Since the beginning of the year, more than 1.4 million tourists visited Serbia. This represents a 1% increase in the number of tourists compared to the previous year. Here are some figures on tourism in Serbia.
According to official statistics, almost 900,000 (+2% compared to the previous year) Serbian tourists have traveled around the country and this represents more than 60% of the number of tourists. Foreign tourists were around 600,000 (+6%).
It was estimated by calculating the number of nights spent in Serbia and this number is around 4.6 million (-3%): 3.4 million (-7%) for Serbian tourists and 1.2 million (+9%) for foreign tourists.
Serbs have mostly visited spa & relaxation resorts (40%) and mountains (33%) while foreign tourists preferred Belgrade (49%), the capital of Serbia.
Vrnjačka Banja, Zlatibor, Sokobanja, Belgrade and Kopaonik were particularly popular with local tourists. Foreign tourists visited especially Belgrade, Novi Sad, Zlatibor, Vrnjačka Banja and Niš.
Foreign tourists are mostly from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Italy, Montenegro, Slovenia, Germany, Russia and Croatia.
