Old vine of Lent, located on the banks of the Drava, is the oldest vines in production in the world. It is even listed in the Guinness Book of Records. In October, winemakers celebrate the harvest as it should and you must participate.
You will be able to visit one of the largest classical wine cellars of Europe: the Vinag cellar.
Maribor’s wine route also allows tourists to visit places such as the Mestni Park which is one of the most beautiful parks in Slovenia. You will be able to visit the church of Santa Barbara in Kalvarija and the Piramida castle’s chapel. You will also be able to taste the white wine and the culinary specialties of the region in the many small wineries located on the wine route.
If you leave Maribor, you will be able to visit Meljski hrib, Celestrina and Malečnik.
