Kriterion, the first artistic cinema in Bosnia and Herzegovina opened in 2011. Kriterion Foundation which exists since 2006 in Sarajevo bought and converted the old “Tesla” cinema in an artistic one. Kriterion is managed only by students and promotes mainly art house films.
Kriterion Cinema in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina
The Kriterion Foundation of Sarajevo was founded in 2006 by the “Young Urban Achievers” from Amsterdam. The project of an artistic cinema is inspired by the Kriterion from Amsterdam which opened 65 years ago.
The cinema has 120 seats and is fully managed and animated by students. Students who graduate are replaced by new students who bring freshness and new ideas.
In addition to promoting art films, Kriterion will be a place for cultural and artistic activities.
