The Greek island of Corfu remains one of the most popular destinations in Europe. Last year, Corfu recorded an increase of 10% in the number of visitors compared to the previous season which is a tendency that other destinations have not followed.
It is located in the Ionian Sea at the entrance of the Adriatic Sea and it is one of the largest islands in Greece with an area of 592 km ². Last year, Corfu Island has been visited by over a million tourists. Half of the year, the number of tourists exceeds the number of inhabitants of the island.
It is also called the Emerald Island with its dense vegetation, golden beaches and beautiful landscapes.
If you have the chance to go to Corfu, you should not miss to visit the resort town of Sidari, Kouloura’s port, the hamlet of Nissaki, Palaiokastritsa and of course the city of Corfu.
