Porto Katsiki is one of the most popular beaches and the most beautiful of the Ionian Island of Lefkada but also of the whole Greece. It is located about 40 kilometers from Kathisma but it is difficult to access by this way because of the steep terrain.

A bit of determination and will power are needed in order to enjoy the beauty of Porto Katsiki. In fact, the beach is located in a relatively inaccessible place. The problem is that the way is too narrow for two cars and this results in common congestion problems in July and August.
There are no gas stations between the city of Lefkada and Porto Katsiki, so it is advisable to refuel before. You cannot get there with a camper or caravan because the place is not suitable.

In recent years, Porto Katsiki knows a great popularity and the beach is full of tourist during high season. Boats are available for tourists who want to reach the beach and even from the island of Kefalonia and Nidri.

You will enjoy the beauty of the beach when you get there. If you get there before 11 am, the entire beach will be in the shadow of the cliff located above until the afternoon.
If you really want to enjoy Porto Katsiki, we recommend you to get there during the early summer (between May and June). Access will be easier and there will be fewer tourists. However, if you go there during high season, we recommend you to go to the beach as soon as possible.
If you want to enjoy a sunny day in a quieter area, you can visit the nearby beach of Egremni. The access is even more difficult because of the hundreds of steps but you will be able to enjoy swimming and the sun of one of the most beautiful beaches in Greece.

The advantage of Porto Katsiki, compared to beaches like the Rhodes one, is its isolation thanks to the lack of infrastructure. However, there are some restaurants and parking but it remains a very natural place.
If you have the chance to visit the Island of Lefkada, do not miss to visit Porto Katsiki. Even if it is difficult to access, you will not regret any of your efforts because you will enjoy a spectacular beach.
